The short version
- Daybed Records runs these link pages for its artists.
- We count visits and taps to see what works. We do not store your IP address or your name.
- If you join a mailing list, we keep your email address and add it to Flodesk, the service we send email with. You can unsubscribe from any email.
- We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure and run ads on Facebook and Instagram, except for visitors in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland and browsers using Global Privacy Control.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Questions or requests: jack@daybedrecords.com or tom@daybedrecords.com.
Who we are
Daybed Records (Daybed Records Pty Ltd, ABN 16 692 053 713) is an independent record label in Adelaide, South Australia ("we", "us"). We run these link pages for the artists we work with. This policy explains what personal information we collect through them, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
When you visit a page, we record:
- the page you viewed and the buttons, streaming links, social icons and videos you tap;
- the website or app that sent you here, and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source);
- your country (worked out from your connection) and your type of device (mobile, tablet or desktop);
- whether the Meta Pixel loaded, was blocked (for example by an ad blocker) or was switched off for privacy on that visit, and whether Meta's cookie was there (yes or no only, never its contents), so we can check our tracking works;
- the date and time.
We do not store your IP address, and these records are not linked to your name.
If you join a mailing list, we keep your email address, the artist's list you joined, the page you joined it on (the artist's page or a release's page), and when.
Our service providers also handle technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to deliver the pages and keep them secure.
How we use it
- To see which pages, links and campaigns work, and to improve our artists' pages.
- To send the emails you signed up for: news about the artist's music, shows and merch, from the artist and Daybed Records.
- To measure our ads and to advertise our artists' music, including on Facebook and Instagram.
- To keep the pages working and secure.
We do not make decisions about you by computer that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies, the Meta Pixel and similar tools
Meta Pixel. Our pages use the Meta Pixel, which sets a cookie called _fbp (kept for 90 days). If you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad, our page also saves the ad click in a cookie called _fbc (90 days). Our server sends the same page events to Meta through its Conversions API, with your IP address, browser details, those cookie values, the page and the site that sent you. Each event says what you tapped: the button or link, the kind of link (streaming, merch, shows and so on), and the artist and release it was for. If you join a mailing list, Meta receives a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address so it can match the sign-up to an ad, never the address itself. Meta may use this information to measure ads and to show you ads, as described in Meta's Privacy Policy.
Not used for everyone. We do not use the Meta Pixel, set Meta cookies or send anything to Meta for visitors in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland (we go by your connection's country and your device's time zone), or for browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal.
Our own notes in your browser. Our page remembers where your visit came from until you close the tab, and whether you have already signed up to an artist's list, so a repeat sign-up is not counted twice. If you pause a video at the top of a page, it remembers that too, so videos stay paused for you. These stay in your browser and are not cookies.
YouTube. Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. The video's preview picture loads from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com) with the page; the player itself, and any YouTube cookies, load only when you tap play. After that, Google may use cookies and similar tools as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Your choices:
- Manage the ads Meta shows you in your Meta ad preferences.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a private window.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, and we will not send your visits to Meta.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
Mailing lists
We only email people who signed up. Every email says who it is from and has an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribes promptly (within 5 working days at the latest). To have your email address removed from our records altogether, email us.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with:
- our service providers: Supabase (database), Netlify (website hosting and backup storage) and Flodesk (email);
- Meta, for advertising and ad measurement, as described above;
- Google (YouTube): the video preview picture, and the player if you tap play;
- the artist whose list you joined and their team, so they can contact you about their music;
- anyone we are required to share it with by law.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some US state laws call sharing data with Meta for ads "sharing" or "targeted advertising": you can opt out using the choices above, including Global Privacy Control.
Where it is stored
Our service providers store and process information in the United States, and Meta and Google process it in the United States and other countries. Backup copies of our records are stored by Netlify in Sydney, Australia. We choose established providers with their own privacy and security commitments.
How long we keep it
- Visit records: while the artist's page is active; they are deleted if the page is removed. A copy of each day's visit records is kept in our backups as the history of the pages' activity (they are not linked to your name and hold no IP address).
- Mailing list sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Flodesk keeps a record that you unsubscribed, so you are not emailed again by mistake.
- Records of mistyped page addresses (the address and the referring website only): up to 90 days.
- Backups: encrypted copies of our database, including mailing list sign-ups, are kept by Netlify in Sydney for up to 30 days, then deleted. If we remove you from our records, you also drop out of the backups within 30 days.
Keeping it safe
The pages use secure (HTTPS) connections, and only Daybed Records staff with a login can see visit records and mailing lists. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you as the law requires.
Access, correction and removal
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email jack@daybedrecords.com or tom@daybedrecords.com. It is free, and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm it is you first.
Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland
We do not use the Meta Pixel or send your visits to Meta. We count visits and keep the pages secure because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving them, and we email you only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
These pages are not directed at children. Mailing lists are for people aged 16 or over. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
